I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting Robyn on April 21, 2007 as she was setting up a table for a book signing of her newly released book, "It's Time to Get Selfish". She began to share about the content. Immediately, I was attracted to the strong, positive energy and light coming from her. The more I listened to her, I realized that was what I had just experienced, on a personal level, by completing a life long dream of writing, arranging, producing, publishing and releasing my first musical CD. During the eight years it took to complete my CD, I was constantly told I should give it up and that I was wasting my time. And at times I almost did. But, this was a part of me and I was determined to complete what I had set out to do. To quote Robyn, "If we are unable to understand or give to ourselves, how can we honestly and freely give to any other?" ....."We are too caught up in the approval of others to ever really seek approval from where it matters most - ourselves." I purchased a copy for myself and have started on my second reading because it is full of bringing to light this reality, that selfishness is positive, not negative.
